Challenges and Struggles

I don't know if many people know, but a lot is changing around the world. Technology is now a necessity to life, money the fuel for it and commercialism the religious belief.  I know this happens to the mass of people, but I hope that no true artist begins to deteriorate like nature has through this unfortunate process. I love creativity and originality. Anything that looks too processed and generic never comes across as art. Technology isn't necessarily the blame, but we can't become generic like technology.  That's not right!

Sorry to start of so bleakly, but I just want to cry every time I see something that someone worked hard for only to be disregarded for something more popular and common. It makes me sick. Art is not a popularity contest, it's a way of life, and a struggle to find the truth within yourself! Anyways, I am definitely going to renew this subscription thing, as I really like having the capabilities of a premium user!

I wanted to do a feature thing for a long time on here, because some art here deserves a lot of recognition for their talents and originality!

Premium Member-Hood and Art Sketches

Wow, it's been quite a while since I've updated this thing, right? I always sat that when I update this, since my updates are so scarce! ANYWAYS, it's just been really busy for me lately, being in the fall play at school and such.

It's been a freaking awesome two months with the cast. I always love how the fall play experience contrasts with that of our musical; we finish through the practicing and the rehearsing in enough time to bond with the cast and not have to worry about notes and music too much. I love the cast and how strong we all became from our setbacks. I am so happy to have this show be my Junior show. Gah, I am so happy!

dA related news: I AM NOW A PREMIUM MEMBER/SUBSCRIBER! I had some money left on my gift card I got for my birthday, so I used it on this! I know it's going to be a lot of fun being a BETA TESTER, because I AM REALLY ECSTATIC! My art is getting a lot better, so I don't think I'm too embarrassed to post anymore.

ADIOS! SEE YOU WHEN I POST SOMETHING NEW! :)

Hey guys, it's been a while since I blogged here, no? I am trying so hard to work on my Manga, which is going to be called, at this point, Lux Aurumque or "Light of Gold". It will feature obviously a love story of some sort, but more of fantasy and interesting takes on Latin! I am so excited!! :iconspork-chann: and I got together yesterday and the project is at a go!  I have a couple questions to those who know manga real well:

{1} What is manuscript paper? Is it so important to use this for manga? Will bristol be a fine substitute?

{2} I found awesome screentones on DA!!! THANKS :iconskybase: ! I need to know when to use them and when to avoid them. Also, where can I find the sandy type of screentone, like the ones used in Fruits Basket?

{3} Any tips on manga for the American chic here? I would like to keep the Japanese roots of the art alive, so I don't want it looking American.

I can change my pen name and create an alias! Maybe it can by Akemi-san Fujistia! Muahahaha! Or not...

I am obviously enjoying this quite a bit...

How long has it been since I've been on this thing, a year? Wow, I was so caught up with my crappy life I completely abandoned this place. Well, don't worry, I'm back and I'm ready to start this thing again, with full rocket power!

Okay, maybe not rocket power exactly...

I'm working with ~spork-chann to create a manga (American/Japanese style) about my psychotic imagination and reality twisted together. I'm thinking of retaining original names (the actual people's names) instead of making names up, as it defeats the whole characterization. What do you think?

Other than that, I opened up a new DA account for poetry, which explains why all my poems are gone. ~luxarumque is the place, check it out if you'd like!

Loves, Hadeel!
The title is from the Disney movie Tarzan, before they started creating shitty Hannah Montana and Camp Rock.

Anyway, I am so busy with summer reading. The book I am reading is The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury, my second-favorite author after Orwell (sorry Ray!). This is the horrible excuse as to why I am unable to update here. Also, I am working on my website, making it XHTML and CSS valid, which is going well, I suppose.

I am coming to hit you guys with more of this poetry. The poem "First Love" was a different approach, where I do not lie at all in them, not even to exaggerate! I have a lot of inspiration, thanks to my Bernardo (Nobody gets to know who this is! NOBODY!!)!

Well, I need to study and read! Goodbye!
